Boys Youth Home Page

Our Mission:

“Intermountain Lacrosse Youth League is dedicated to the promotion, development, and administration of both Boys and Girls youth lacrosse in Utah.  The league is directly accountable to its members, constantly striving for fairness and excellence in all aspects of the game, and focused on providing the experiences that foster life-long lacrosse participation.”

“Grow the Players!  Grow the League!  Grow the Game!”

Intermountain Lacrosse offers two separate seasons, fall & spring, for all youth lacrosse players, K-8th grade. All Intermountain Lacrosse leagues welcome all players, of all skill levels and experience. A brief outline of our fall and spring seasons are below for your refference.

League Structure:

*This page contains general information about all of our different youth lacrosse leagues for boys (K-8th Grade)*

General: The Intermountain Lacrosse Youth Leagues are grade based leagues, meaning the appropriate league a player is eligible to play for in a given season is determined by what grade the player is enrolled in during that season, and not neccesarily determined by a players age. The breakdown of the leagues are as follows:

7th/8th League: All players enrolled in the 7th or 8th grade.

5th/6th: All players enrolled in the 5th and 6th grade.

3rd/4th: All players enrolled in the 3rd and 4th grade.

2nd/3rd: All players enrolled in 2nd and 3rd grade.

K/1st: All players enrolled in Kindergarten and 1st grade.

  • *Pre-K are permitted with prior parental consent & league approval*
  • The K-4th grade leagues play small sided & provide multiple options to teams, programs, and coaches to better account for player development and trying to minimize the age and developmental gap between players by offering a 3rd division (2nd/3rd) and restructuring K-2nd to K/1 only
    • This will allow more options for coaches and programs to structure their teams comprised of players in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades into two separate and distinct divisions based on age/grade, and minimizing the developmental gap within teams as well as each of the two divisions.

Fall Season vs. Spring Season:

Number of Games: 5 Game Fall Season vs. 7 game Spring Season

*Fall games are Saturdays ONLY in FALL, Teams may have 1-2 weeknight games in the spring*

Divisions: 5th-8th Grade leagues are further divided into multiple divisions, based on skill levels, in the SPRING ONLY

Post-season: There is no post-season play at any level in the fall. 5th-8th grade divisions have playoffs (Lax Fest) during the spring

What team/program should I register for?

The boys and girls youth leagues teams/programs largely stem down through the affiliated high school lacrosse programs. Players are to register, and eligible to play, for the team/program that corresponds to the public high school boundaries in which they live in, or for the private high school they will attend (if such program exists). If your school/area does not have a lacrosse program players are then placed on the next closest team/program in the league. You may contact the office if you have questions about the next closest program in your area (801)-590-9950 or email info@imlaxutah.org
